The National Academy of Video Game Testers and Reviewers Corp., a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization, was incorporated
on January 4, 2001, in the State of Maryland.
Each year, a voting body of more than 1,150 voters has the opportunity to participate in the most comprehensive awards
program for the gaming industry.
Through a vast array of unique categories, the annual awards recognize outstanding achievements and innovations in video
game art, technology, and production. The quantity of artistic categories reflects the ever-growing similarities between
the interactive entertainment industry and the traditional Hollywood movie industry.
Through annual awards, television specials, videos, and other future plans involving asset archives in public libraries
and universities, we hope to preserve the history of the medium as well as honor the creative and technical individuals who
have paved the way for new ideas and innovations.
The public perception of the industry is also a focus for the Academy. We believe that by encouraging more recognition
of many of the industry’s talented individuals, the enhanced visibility of these leaders will lead to a greater public
appreciation of the medium as an art form, and possibly change the face of video game marketing.
